Be So Good They Can’t Ignore You

We often spend far too much time worrying about whether people will notice us. Will they recognise our talent? Will they appreciate our work? Will somebody give us the opportunity we have been waiting for? But there is another way to think about it. Be so good they can’t ignore you.

The message isn't about becoming perfect or trying to prove that you are better than everyone else. It is about putting your energy into becoming genuinely good at what you do.

Whatever your ambition, there will be people who are more experienced, more confident or further ahead than you. Comparing yourself with them can become a distraction. Your real challenge is to keep improving your own abilities.

Learn more. Practise more. Make mistakes. Listen to criticism. Try again. Every time you improve, you increase the value of what you can offer.

And don't underestimate consistency. Talent may attract attention, but doing something well repeatedly is what builds trust. The person who keeps learning, keeps showing up and keeps improving eventually becomes difficult to overlook.

Positive thinking has an important role here. It doesn't mean telling yourself that you are already the best. It means refusing to decide that you have reached the limit of what you can become.

You are not broken. You are still learning. So instead of asking, “Why doesn't anyone notice me?”, ask a better question:“What could I do so well that people can't help but notice?”

Then get to work. Because sometimes recognition doesn't come from asking to be seen. It comes from becoming impossible to ignore.
